================================= Release 02.40 ================================ This WMM-Power Save (WMM-PS) release contains new software that fixes accumulated bugs and implementation errors. These issues resulted in inconsistent test results. This release adds the WMM-PS test bed software upgrade to the DUT code. The following changes were made from the previous version (2.1) of WMM-PS: 1) Handshaking mechanism before starting and ending tests 2) Exchange messages based on WMM-PS test plan definitions 3) Redefine timing requirements that may have caused random pass/fail tests These changes led to a major re-implementation of the state machine. Therefore, the 2.1 code base for WMM-Power Save must be completely replaced by version 2.4. Before working on this source for WMM-Power Save, you must go to the member-only web site to download, study, and understand the latest release of WMM-Power Save test-bed software and documents. They include: Software: 1) Source code for WFGEN 2) tcl script for parsing and result analysis 3) Wireshark sniffer, a special version for WMM-PS Documents: 1) Wi-Fi Alliance WMM-Power Save Interoperability Test Plan 2) 802.11e (for APSD protocol specificition) 3) WFA WMM-Power Save Techops Mannual 4) WMM-PS Test Handshake and Reset Mechanism 5) DUT Source Porting Guideline The porting for the DUT code primarily involves the function wfaWmmPowerSaveProcess() in lib/wfa_wmmps.c. Some minimum effort could be taken to port the rest of code for the WMM-PS module (in lib/wfa_wmmps.c, lib/wfa_thr.c, and dut/wfa_dut.c) This could vary depending on what OS your device uses. Additional changes were made for optimization and to address member generated bug reports: 1) Comment out the process priority settings and leave these for the user to decide. File impacted: lib/wfa_tg.c * look at used function "wfaSetProcPriority()" 2) Correct a major bug brought in 2.3 release that results in WPA2 DL not receiving. Reported Bug #3, #4, #6 File impacted: dut/wfa_dut.c from line 430 "/* Baseline ... */ * at 431 adding || gtgRecv != 0 * at line 495 adding "if(gtgTransac != 0) 3) Reformat the debugging print statements suggested Reported Bug #5 File Impacted: wfa_ca_resp.c 4) Change the memcpy size used Reporteded Bug #7 File Impacted: lib/wfa_cmdproc.c At line 980 in the function xcCmdProcStaGetBSSID change "slen" to WFA_IF_NAME_LEN 5) Change the return values (SUCCESS and FAILURE to TRUE and FALSE, respectively) across a few places for consistency in lib/wfa_dut.c and lib/wfa_sock.c. These must be merged into the previous version if you have done the porting. For details, please read "README.txt" and CAPI Specification document.
